The Potters in Vanuatu
Summer 2012
We’ve been enjoying cool spring-like weather these last two months! Our ni-Vanuatu friends think it is cold, but we think it is great! Life has been way too busy, and the blog and newsletter got pushed to the back burner! We are just hours away from beginning the long trip back to the States for a few weeks of vacation, but before we leave we wanted to pass along our latest news. We didn’t have time to make a newsletter, but we’ve posted several new blogs that we hope you’ll take a few minutes to read and view the pictures. You can click here to go to the latest story – “Eluklom Church Building Project.” Just keep reading down the page to learn more about our 32nd wedding anniversary, an exciting women’s ministry drama, lives being transformed through SPNTC, and finally how we got ‘stoned’ at Prima Church.
We haven’t posted a blog about this yet, but just this last weekend we hosted about 35 young people in our yard for a district wide youth camp. Pastor Gideon, District NYI President, did a good job of organizing his first youth camp! He was concerned that the youth needed something to occupy them rather than the Independence Day drinking celebrations that were going on in honor of Vanuatu’s 32nd anniversary! Campers were to arrive on Friday at 1PM, and in they marched at 1PM sharp! The theme for the camp was “Coming to be trained; going out to serve.” David shared a class the first evening on how to share Jesus with your friend. During the practice time when we split up into two’s, Sylvia got acquainted with Selina and then had the privilege of praying with her as she accepted Jesus into her heart. On Saturday evening, Sylvia shared on the topic of how to make Christlike disciples. At the end about 10 young people came forward and prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior! That’s exciting stuff!! Early Saturday morning, the Scripture Union director, Albea, came and shared his testimony with the young people and challenged them to spend time in God’s Word. A little later, all the young people worked at making our yard look great. Saturday afternoon was sports time with soccer (futbal) and volleyball and lots of good fun. We praise the Lord for the lives that were transformed and set free from sin on this Independence weekend!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We love and appreciate you!
