MISSION CALL

Thy Kingdom Come …
In Matthew 6:10, these very words were spoken as Jesus taught His followers how to pray. “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Jesus is calling people out of the darkness, into the light to join Him in fulfilling the purposes He has for His kingdom here on earth. His followers are no longer their own, or belong to this world, rather they are subjects of His beautiful kingdom here on earth and preparing for eternity with Him. His Holy Spirit resides in us, as a deposit of His presence and glory. As GS Dr. Busic cautioned at Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC15), if there is a Kingdom then there must be a King. We can not live a life for ourselves! Who is this King? The Bible tells us it is Jesus, the Son of God, who came to earth and willingly became the Lamb of God, laying down His life for all mankind who live in darkness. He was the only One found worthy in all the heavens and the earth (Rev. 5:5) to open the scroll to the Lamb’s book of life. Rev. 5:9, says … And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. This past NYC15 (Louisville, KY) challenged youth in the Church of the Nazarene to live worthy of the message ``Thy Kingdom Come``. Do not be distracted by the desires and pleasures and idols of this world, but fix your eyes on the unseen, and sometimes unspeakable glory of Jesus and His kingdom. I encourage you to be a model to the youth around you. Lead the way, then encourage them to become subjects of the kingdom of Jesus. We need to be all in. In Christ, Rev.
