Jan-12th-2014 - Update

Please be in prayer for Lenora Pease who is in hospital (Calgary South Health Campus).  She has congestive heart failure, pneumonia and is very weak.  She’s not eating or drinking much and the doctor is giving her only a few days in her present condition.  She told a friend that she’s ready to go home.  Please pray for her family and siblings (Evan Kaechele and Hazel Herbert) as well.

Thanks for your faithfulness.

Nov-11th-2013 - Update

Nov-2nd-2013 - Prayer Request

Lenora was admitted to hospital on Oct 19th with pneumonia.  (Her extended family didn’t find out for more than a week of her condition – hence I’ve not been able to update you sooner.)  On Thursday, Oct 31st, I took her sister and brother to visit her.  Oh my but she was thrilled to see them!  J  Lenora is lonely and has been having some spiritual battles with Satan trying to discourage her – especially in the night.  Pray for her.  They have not been able to control the pneumonia yet, and there is also an issue of swelling in her legs and feet.   When we arrived she had just been put into isolation; we’re not sure of the reason for that.  She still has a roommate, so it isn’t a completely isolated room.  We did need to gown up and wear gloves.  Lenora was bright and cheerful.  She sure has a love for life; it was fun to watch her brother and her tease each other during the visit.  Lenora’s beautiful brown eyes were sparkling!

Thanks for praying!

Blessings,
Carolyn Herbert

Lenora has let us know that she was called by God to be a missionary at an early age, at District Camp.  Indeed, when Lenora was delivered prematurely into this world by her grandmother, grandma said to Lenora's mother, "If this little girl lives (less than 3 lbs.), we will give her to God to be a missionary."

The one prayer request that Lenora has given to us as her LINKS District is for Holy Ghost revival in our church.  Amen, sister!

Lenora is a widow, She has two sons, Ken (Anna) and Rick (Karen).  Her son Rick has given Lenora three grandsons, Logan (14), Kade (12) and Aydon (9).  Rick and Karen and their family are "very involved in Southside church in Edmonton.

In the mission-field, Lenora indicates that she and her husband worked at a boarding school with 323 Indian boys and girls.  Lenora also speaks the Marathi language.

Here's the text of a hand-written note we received from Lenora (she does not have internet access):

"If you could get a copy of the book, 'Journey of Faith from Canada to the World' it will give you my life-story.  It was on the reading course some years ago so K. City must have it.

"In the story they missed saying that we had to put our boys in a boarding school 1,200 miles away from home for all their schooling.  I tried to home-school but it was impossible with all the work and responsibilities I had.  The boys got a good education ... always ahead by two years when we came on furlough.  But they only got home once a year -- 6 weeks at Christmas.  That is a whole story in itself.  I'll share with your District sometime, OK?  I'm sorry I do not have a computer." -- Lenora
