Hudson News from the Field
Thanks for this Family Camp update. Sounds like it'll be a great NMI service. Wish we could be there!
I also wanted to let you know about Stefania, the Romanian lady for whom we prayed around the altar at last year's convention. On Saturday, June 30th she went to be with the Lord. She left this life in the victory of Jesus, knowing she has eternal life in him.
Her daughters tried really hard to respect her wishes, which were to have a church funeral conducted by her Nazarene Church family. But the Orthodox priest had already come to take care of her body by the time this became known, and so it was a little bit uncertain what would happen. Eventually, on Sunday evening, July 1st a group from the Bucharest Blessing Church was able to go to the Orthodox Church where her body was, and together with Stefania's church family and her natural family a beautiful funeral service was conducted. It was Pastor Cristi's first funeral service to conduct, and a difficult one because Stefania was so dearly loved and because none of her family members are born again believers (Stefania was always praying for them!). Cristi said that the service was a special time of grace, in which God was clearly speaking to the family. They had all noticed a remarkable change in Stefania's life since she met the Saviour two years ago, and after the service several commented that now they understand what had changed her life so much for the better!
This past Sunday was a time of rejoicing in the church because five of Stefania's family members came to worship the Lord. Three of her sisters came, one niece and one daughter. It was very, very moving to see them there after so much prayer and witnessing by Stefania.
Well, I don't want to ramble on too much. I just thought you might like to know about this. The Lord is so good! We all count it a privilege from the Lord to have been able to know Stefania and to have her as part of our church family these past two years. The most common comment about her has always been, "She's such an example for us all." And indeed she was.
Have a great family camp! World Mission Broadcast is a fantastic ministry.
With love and prayers,
