CCD NMI Update - November
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” -Romans 10:15
What a privilege it is to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ both at home and abroad. We must continue to pray for and support the workers in the field, especially during Covid-19. Let us remember to pray for our missionaries, on all of our Regions - Mesoamerica, Asia-Pacific, Eurasia, South America, Africa, and USA/Can. Let us also pray for the missionaries who have been "displaced" during Covid-19, either delayed in their home country, or are separated from loved ones (children, grandchildren), due to closed borders and decreased international travel. May God care for and use each family, where they are, to share the Good News. Local NMI Presidents and Pastors - Thank you for leading your congregations to impact the church around the world.
Today I want to highlight two ways we can support our global missionaries and the church around the world.
Alabaster Offering
This is an opportunity to raise funds to provide the bricks and mortar of church buildings. There are projects on all 6 Regions, in various levels of approval. Last year, the global church raised 2.5 million in Alabaster funds. Your offering makes a difference! September and February have been traditional months to raise funds, but an offering can be sent in to the National Church at any time, marked "Alabaster." May God continue to encourage us to give and bless this offering!
Deputation
You are invited to a ZOOM Missions Evening on Sunday, November 20 @ 7pm. This service will be in place of the deputation tour, we were to have with Rev's Jay and Teanna Sunberg this fall. The Sunberg's have provided some recorded updates, and we will have the opportunity to raise a deputation offering for them. As you can imagine, it has been difficult for missionaries to visit churches and to raise deputation funds. We have been encouraged by our Global NMI Director Lola Brickey, to be creative in raising and sending in deputation funds. Mrs. Beverly Crossley, our current Deputation Chair on our district will provide more information soon regarding the ZOOM service, and the opportunity to give an offering!
