Rev. Donna Wilson
District NMI President
In the Loop - May 2021

We welcome spring and the reminder of new life after winter’s barrenness and rest! BEHOLD I will do a New thing (Isaiah 43:15)! This was the declarative word spoken by God to His people in Isaiah 43. After a seventy-year captivity, God spoke freedom and redemption for His people and He called His people out from the old, into the new. This spring, let’s give thanks to God, as He continues to lead His people into something new, daily breathing new life into us by His Spirit, both abroad and at home.
PLEASE SIGN up for the PRAYER MOBILIZATION LINE >>> (nazarene.org/NMI).

Local Church NMI Reporting – The NMI forms have been sent by email and are due May 15th. Please send directly to the NMI Secretary – Esther Boodhoo. (Please do not send them through the district email or app.) If you need assistance or the forms, contact Pastor Donna Wilson, eriestnaz@gmail.com.

Delegates for Convention 2021 - the number of delegates allowed is aside from the Local President (i.e., 2 delegates + Local President). If you choose to send the same members as delegates for NMI Convention and District Assembly, and/or other conventions, ensure their names are listed on each separate delegate form for each (Assembly and Conventions).

District Convention – NMI will join with NYI and SDMI during the online District Assembly, June 5th, 2021. There will be a NMI break out room from 12 – 12:45 pm, and voting will take place following, before the close of Assembly. We look forward to you being with us. PLEASE mark June 5th, 9:30-1:00 pm for District Assembly and Conventions on your calendar!!

Thank You Gord Evans!
We give thanks to God for the service of Mr. Gord Evans (Cedardale Church of the Nazarene), as he completes his role as treasurer of the District NMI Council. Gord has served as a passionate and faithful member and friend in this role for 20 years. We will find a way to thank him, but want to recognize his good work here!

Please pray for the council as we seek a qualified person for the treasury.  If you have bookkeeping experience and would be willing to serve in this way, please let Pastor Donna know.

New Council Members
We welcome Rev. Junior Sorzano (London) in the role of Work & Witness Coordinator, and Mrs. Sandra Muzzell (Owen Sound) as Georgian Bay Zone Rep!

CCD NMI Update - November 2020

And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”  -Romans 10:15

What a privilege it is to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ both at home and abroad. We must continue to pray for and support the workers in the field, especially during Covid-19. Let us remember to pray for our missionaries, on all of our Regions - Mesoamerica, Asia-Pacific, Eurasia, South America, Africa, and USA/Can.  Let us also pray for the missionaries who have been "displaced" during Covid-19, either delayed in their home country, or are separated from loved ones (children, grandchildren), due to closed borders and decreased international travel. May God care for and use each family, where they are, to share the Good News. Local NMI Presidents and Pastors - Thank you for leading your congregations to impact the church around the world.

Today I want to highlight two ways we can support our global missionaries and the church around the world.

Alabaster Offering
This is an opportunity to raise funds to provide the bricks and mortar of church buildings. There are projects on all 6 Regions, in various levels of approval. Last year, the global church raised 2.5 million in Alabaster funds. Your offering makes a difference! September and February have been traditional months to raise funds, but an offering can be sent in to the National Church at any time, marked "Alabaster." May God continue to encourage us to give and bless this offering!

Deputation
You are invited to a ZOOM Missions Evening on Sunday, November 20 @ 7pm. This service will be in place of the deputation tour, we were to have with Rev's Jay and Teanna Sunberg this fall. The Sunberg's have provided some recorded updates, and we will have the opportunity to raise a deputation offering for them. As you can imagine, it has been difficult for missionaries to visit churches and to raise deputation funds. We have been encouraged by our Global NMI Director Lola Brickey, to be creative in raising and sending in deputation funds. Mrs. Beverly Crossley, our current Deputation Chair on our district will provide more information soon regarding the ZOOM service, and the opportunity to give an offering!
