We had this newsletter ready to send before the end of January, but a quick trip to Fiji for a board meeting for South Pacific Nazarene Theological College took precedence over getting it sent out on time! Please join us in praising God for all his answers to prayer! And, we plead for your support in praying for the needs listed in the newsletter.
We are still experiencing El Nino with very little rain and hot, humid weather. We have been noticing the things that actually like the drier weather. Roses, frangipanis, and bougainvillea have been flowering better than ever before! But, the sweet potato and cassava don’t like the drought. We find that we can almost always hang our laundry on our nice clothes line rather than putting it in our gas dryer, and often times it only takes half a day in the strong sun to get all the loads dry. The firewood is never wet when we want to make a fire to do some grilling outside.
Once again, we’re always glad to hear some news from your part of the world. Please feel free to drop us a line to let us know how you’re doing or what you’ve got planned for the new year.
A verse of Scripture that is stirring in our hearts comes from 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…” May the Lord fill your heart with love for Himself and for others, driving out the fear that often times causes us to act in unloving and uncaring ways.
Blessings,
David and Sylvia
