Hudson Family Summer 2010 Greetings
Hello Dear Friends!
We just returned home last night from Youth Camp and now waiting for a team of people to arrive from Bulgaria tonight. They are joining some young people from the Romania District and will travel together tomorrow to the Republic of Moldova to minister with the Nazarene Missionaries there who minister to those who suffer addictions to drugs and alcohol. Our young people will be doing a very special VBS with children from families whose lives are touched by the problems of addiction. Please pray for our oldest daughter, Julia who is 15. She will be traveling with the group to minister there. This is her first international trip without us as parents and we are a little jealous that she is visiting a country we have never been to ourselves-and a former Soviet country at that! We know that God will bless Julia and the rest of the team and we are praying that He will use them to minister to kids in Chisinau over the next 10 days.
Many of you have been praying for Irina and her baby boy. He now has a name-David Cristian. Please continue to pray for his survival and for healthy growth and development. He is still very tiny but has started on milk with a feeding tube. I know some of you have heard that there was a fire in the NICU at the University Hospital here in Bucharest. 3 premature babies died in the fire. This is a terrible tragedy and we continue to pray for those grieving families. This was the hospital where Irina was supposed to go to give birth to her child but at the last minute she was re-routed to another hospital. We didn't understand why at the time when that is supposed to be the place with the best care for premature babies in the country. Now, we give thanks to God that little David was spared from that terrible fire. We trust that God has his hand on this little boy. Please keep praying for him and for Irina and her family-her husband Victor and daughter Raluca. We are praying that God will encourage and help them during this time of trial. Every day is a struggle with doctors who believe that Irina should have aborted her baby when she had little amniotic fluid. As a Christian she felt she couldn't do that-she would just leave things in God's hands. Pray that God will guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus as she faces unkind words and criticism from those who are supposed to be caring for her and her baby.
Youth Camp was amazing! Michael and I were the speakers and we shared about "No Limits Discipleship". We played, we swam, we ate, we sang...our girls even got to play with 5 week old puppies at the center where we were staying. One of them said "I was overwhelmed by cuteness"! It was wonderful to see young people from very diverse backgrounds come together as a real family. My eyes were filled with tears as I watched the young people respond to the call to be commited disciples of Jesus. One by one they came to the communion table to celebrate His sacrifice. During testimony time during the last day it was evident that God was truly at work and we ask you to pray that God will continue to encourage and call all of us to a deeper walk with Him! Thank for praying!
Tomorrow I am looking forward to a lesson in how to grill eggplant outside. It is the time of the year that Romanians begin to make "zacusca" a vegetable spread that will last the winter. Our friends here, Dan and Anisoara are at the market this evening buying vegetables and tomorrow we will grill them all together. We are so thankful for the friends and coworkers God has given us here in Romania. God is good!
Thank you so much for your prayers.
With our love and prayers for you,
Michael, Tamara, Julia, Emily and Elena
